Les anciens diplômés appelés, également « alumni », de la filière Langues étrangères appliquées (LEA), se sont retrouvés sur le Campus Lettres et Sciences Humaines, pour partager avec enthousiasme leur parcours et expérience devant près de 125 étudiants de 1ère année de licence.
Dans le cadre de la 4e Rencontre Étudiants Diplômés (RED), cinq professionnels toutes et tous anciens étudiants de la filière LEA – Laure, Manon, Adrien, Ninon et Emilie - ont répondu présents à l’invitation des enseignants de la filière et du SOIP (Service universitaire d’Orientation et d’Insertion Professionnelle). Leurs témoignages et parcours de vie ponctués de conseils (bien présenter son CV, être professionnel lors du recrutement, rechercher des expériences ailleurs qu’à Nancy, etc.) et d’anecdotes personnelles ont captivé les étudiants. Ils ont pu découvrir des débouchés insoupçonnés comme « Gérante d’un organisme de formation en langues pour enfants », « Ingénieure qualité client », « Manager export grands comptes », « Chargé de marketing digital free-lance » ou « Key account sales representative ».
La rencontre s’est conclue autour d’un buffet qui a permis des discussions plus individuelles avec les professionnels et l’équipe pédagogique : un moment idéal pour commencer à se créer un réseau de connaissances essentiel pour la poursuite d’étude et la construction du Projet professionnel des étudiants.
Delphine STEINER, professeure d'anglais, les a chaleureusement remerciés de leur venue, montrant ainsi leur intérêt et leur attachement à la filière qui les a formés et préparés à leur entrée et évolution dans un marché de l’emploi international. Remerciements particuliers à Clara, emploi-étudiante en Psychologie au SOIP qui a apporté « au pied levé » et avec entrain son aide logistique pour l’organisation de la manifestation.
L’événement sera reconduit l’an prochain pour permettre à un maximum d’étudiants de se rendre compte de la richesse et de la réussite des parcours.
4th meeting of alumni and current students
On Friday 29 April 2022 at 5pm, the LEA "alumni" were back on Campus to enthusiastically share their experiences in front of almost 125 first year students. The meeting was held in Amphi Déléage.
The five professionals - Laure, Manon, Adrien, Ninon and Emilie - all former students of the LEA programme, accepted the invitation from the LEA teachers and the SOIP (University Service for Professional Orientation and Integration). Delphine STEINER warmly thanked them for coming, thus showing their interest and their attachment to the course which has trained them and prepared them for their entry and evolution on the international job market.
The testimonies and life stories enriched with pieces of advice (how to write a CV, how to be professional during a job interview, how to look for experience outside Nancy, etc.) and personal anecdotes captivated the students. They were able to discover unsuspected career opportunities such as "Manager of a language school for children", "Customer quality engineer", "Export manager for major accounts", "Freelance digital marketing manager" or "Key account sales representative".
The meeting ended with a buffet, which allowed for more individual discussions with the professionals and the teaching staff: an ideal moment to start creating a network of contacts that is essential for further study and the building of the students' professional project.
The event will be repeated next year to allow as many students as possible to see the richness and success of the courses.
