Résumé : This lecture explores how our perceptions of sustainability differ across cultures and generations, asking whether we all mean the same thing when we speak of it. It examines the multifaceted nature of sustainability — from environmental protection to peace, equality, and social justice — highlighting that it cannot be confined to a single definition. Through the lens of the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals, we will unpack how diversity, equity, and inclusion intertwine with sustainability. Ultimately, the lecture invites reflection on whether sustainability is an action plan, an ideal, or a way of structuring society itself, encouraging a shared yet plural understanding of a sustainable future.
