2ème matinée d’étude sur les corpus issus des réseaux sociaux

Objectif : présentations et échanges autour de travaux sur des corpus issus des réseaux sociaux et leurs challenges.

Des doctorantes et doctorants présenteront leur travaux.

Langue : Anglaise

Programme

Social media networks have now entered the lives of most Internet-connected people. Anyone can get informed, express opinions, and engage in virtual discussions on social networks. Linguistic data produced on these media are increasing, enriched with other types of data (e.g., emoticons, pictures and short videos). Hence, genuine content on social media networks reflects the society’s opinions or beliefs. The analysis of social networks’ data is thus crucial, i) to understand our society (e.g., the public perception on a particular topic) or the dynamics of a language, ii) to act for a more peaceful social environment, and iii) to develop computer systems for human-machine interaction. In this multidisciplinary study session, we propose to discuss the challenges and good practices when working with social media corpora.

Marie FLESCH (ATILF) – Internet language and gender: an intersectional study of a corpus of Reddit comments

Tomara GOTKOVA and Nikolay CHEPURNYKH (ATILF) – Public Perception and Usage of Environmental Vocabulary: Building and Exploiting a Thematic Social Media Corpus

Aman SINHA (IECL & ATILF) C-Net: Contextual Network for Sarcasm Detection

Nicolas ZAMPIERI – (LORIA) Multiword Expression Features for Automatic Hate Speech Detection

Dana RUITER (Saarland University) – The Difficulty of Evaluating Style Transfer Systems
